Chat subject: Experimenting with Electric Vehicles
****************************************************
14:59:10 [kidmarc] Hi George 14:59:12 [George] Hello, I'm here 14:59:47 [George] Hi kidmarc, did you have any specific interests? 15:00:37 [kidmarc] Just on something up posted before about improving electric vehicles. 15:01:14 [George] Do you have experience with electric vehicles? 15:01:36 [kidmarc] None at the moment. 15:02:25 [George] That makes two of us. However, in my research I have discovered a few things that I think would help make them practical. 15:02:35 [kidmarc] I can't play with much here in Germany. All of my stuff is in the States. 15:03:02 [George] Would you like to build an electric vehicle? 15:03:30 [George] When are you going back to the States? 15:04:26 [George] What kind of resources do you have in the States? 15:04:34 [kidmarc] About 9 years ago I helped someone with a hybrid by suggesting they perform some of the enhancements you came up with. I go to the States once a year, Sept.- Oct. 15:05:30 [George] Have you read my previous newsletter where I talked about electric vehicles? 15:05:39 [kidmarc] I used to have access to a woodshop and milling machines at a university, but not anymore. 15:05:48 [George] Opps, I see you likely did... 15:05:54 [kidmarc] I did read the newsletter. 15:06:14 [George] What enhancements did they apply and how did they work out? 15:07:19 [kidmarc] Carb Enhancer. As for results... I didn't get any results as I left the university. 15:07:48 [George] Hmmm. that would have been nice to know. 15:08:29 [kidmarc] I was the one at Santa Monica College who got the High Performance Club to go your route. 15:08:31 [George] Two months in the States once a year, that raises many questions 15:09:09 [George] Have you applied the Carburetor Enhancer to any other vehicles? 15:09:13 [kidmarc] Actually only a month... half of each. 15:09:51 [George] Did the Santa Monica College have any results they could share? 15:10:32 [kidmarc] I applied it to my Rx-7, but during testing it was hit (in an accident). However it did improve the performance as it (rotary) is geared toward vapor. 15:10:50 [George] It sounds like you've been looking at a lot of options, enough to recognize Hybrid as a good system 15:11:01 [kidmarc] Alas, most of those guys have left except for the teachers. 15:11:34 [George] And to see enhancing the gasoline motor as much as possible. 15:12:08 [kidmarc] I thought that was a better way to go at the time. 15:12:15 [George] Have you researched ways to improve the efficiency of the electric system? 15:13:23 [kidmarc] Yes. That is one reason I am on the NuEnergy group. However, all tinkering is set aside until I finish renovating the apartment. 15:13:51 [George] Personally, I think a high voltage system is the way to go. It makes components smaller and more efficient 15:14:04 [kidmarc] I was also trying to get Art Bell to join since he is greatly interested in this subject but he is a hard man to get a hold of. 15:14:53 [George] Thanks for trying, it would have been fun. He'll be able to look at it after. 15:15:17 [George] Sorry to hear about your accident 15:15:53 [George] What suggestions do you have for increasing efficiency? 15:16:14 [kidmarc] It's okay. Just a bad neck that goes out every once and awhile. I need some BG on it. 15:16:51 [George] With a high voltage system, my capacitive power supply becomes the charger of choice 15:17:23 [kidmarc] How about better capacitors for storage. 15:17:26 [George] Ohhhh, you've heard of the healing effects of BG 15:18:06 [George] BG is great for enhancing fuel combustion too, a great addition to the Hybrid. 15:18:25 [kidmarc] Yes. It's similar to Willard Water. That is why I asked about using that in the electrolyzer 15:19:03 [George] I'm still thinking of using batteries for storage, the capacitors are used for amperage limiting during charge. 15:19:26 [George] Do you know of capacitors that could compete against batteries? 15:19:52 [kidmarc] I see. I thought of it because of Nology wires and now Direct Hits 15:20:28 [kidmarc] I was thinking along the lines of Tesla and his idea of storing lightning. 15:20:35 [George] What is "Nology wires and now Direct Hits"? 15:21:39 [George] That would require a huge capacitor bank with exceptional wiring. Be fun to try though 15:22:17 [kidmarc] 10 years ago, a company came up with the idea to use capacitors in the spark plug wires to send short (nanosecond) but powerful sparks to combustion. 15:22:32 [George] Have you researched John Bedini or Joe Newman? 15:23:29 [George] As I understand it, it was called Pulsed Capacitor Discharge and could be single or multiple pulse. 15:23:53 [kidmarc] Problem was this lead to having the plug wires come off. Direct Hits solved this by not using wires but a capacitor between the wires and plugs. Newman, yes - Bedini, no. 15:24:15 [George] PCD is a good idea, but wasn't enough better to make it. 15:24:47 [kidmarc] I can send you the websites on both. 15:25:23 [George] OK, I'm getting a better picture of what you have in mind. Are you aware of the EV Gray motor? 15:25:43 [George] I'd love to see the websites. 15:26:40 [George] My opinion of Newman is that he has something, but his apparatus is too heavy to be practical. 15:27:10 [George] John Bedini does similar things using a LOT smaller apparatus. 15:27:13 [kidmarc] Yes. I am also looking into Tilley as well. There's also William Alek, Don Smith, etc. over at the NuEnergy Yahoo Groups 15:28:16 [George] The idea of Joe and John is to recover, store and use the electromagnetic field. 15:29:02 [kidmarc] Bruce Perreault just put up some videos on their work (1 hour each I believe) at his website. 15:29:37 [George] I'm not familier with William Alek. Has Don finally had anyone else be able to duplicat his work? 15:30:21 [George] What's Bruce's website? 15:30:25 [kidmarc] I'm not sure. He just had a stroke so he's been away for awhile. 15:31:26 [George] That's too bad. Technologies like his and the 'Sweet' device really need to come out into public use. 15:31:27 [kidmarc] http://www.nuenergy.org 15:32:58 [George] Anyway, electric vehicles need to take a step away from traditional designs. 15:34:16 [George] tend to keep doing things the way they've been done, instead of looking for better ways. Then other things start depending on them and it's harder to change. 15:34:37 [kidmarc] What if the ICE were something along the lines of the Freedom Motor - lightweight rotary - instead of the normal pistion? 15:35:25 [George] Like the reason railway/road standards are based on the width of two horse's butts 15:36:26 [kidmarc] That's one of the best (funny) stories out there. 15:36:44 [George] Improving ICE is a good idea, particularly to use eco-friendly fuels. I like rotary. 15:37:26 [George] Have you looked into my 'Wise Cycle' report? 15:38:30 [kidmarc] How much BG would it take before you lose efficiency as a fuel? Wise Cycle Report??? Don't know what it is. 15:38:35 [George] Generally the idea is to use environmental temperature differences as little as 20°F to generate power. 15:39:24 [George] Do you mean using BG alone? Or as a combustion enhancement? 15:39:45 [kidmarc] BG alone. 15:41:15 [George] I don't know exactly how to answer. First, I would't use it alone, because it takes more power to make it that you get back out (using IC) 15:42:06 [George] Second, I haven't tested to find the lowest possible combustion mixtures (when mixed in air) 15:42:46 [kidmarc] That answers it somewhat. I was wanting to know at what point (given the lowest possible weight to move) that it becomes inefficient. 15:43:01 [George] Third, the experiments I have done showed very lean mixtures (detailed in BG Book 2) to be as powerful as gasoline. 15:44:47 [George] However, using the HyZor Technology (BG for ICE), you can not only significantly improve performance; you can do it at the same time as replacing large percentages of your fuel with water. 15:45:15 [kidmarc] Have you or someone in your BG organization approached the Kit Car industry. I believe it would be well received. Maybe an article in their magazine. 15:46:27 [George] BG enhances external combustion too, so external combustion is an option for hybrid vehicles. external combustion tends to be multi-fuel. 15:47:41 [kidmarc] http://www.nology.com/ 15:47:46 [kidmarc] http://www.directhits.com/ 15:47:53 [George] The Kit Car industry is entirely outside my experience. Do they support alternative drivetrains, like hybrid? 15:48:19 [George] Thank you for all the url's, 15:49:17 [kidmarc] Yes. The Kit Car industry is more open to ideas and testing than most in the automotive industry. You're welcome (url's). 15:50:34 [George] Can you recommend contacts in the Kit Cars? 15:50:47 [kidmarc] How does BG enhace external combustion? 15:51:40 [George] Note: my brother built up a roadster out of a Volkswagon bug frame. Nice project. Got nearly 50 MPG. 15:52:53 [kidmarc] Off hand... I would say the editors of Kit Car Illustrated and their rival Kit Car Monthly - Specialty Cars as well as the kit car manufacturers. I'll look some of them up this week for you. 15:53:29 [George] The same way BG enhances internal combustion; by acting as a catalyst. The net end product it water but the interactions of the hydrogen, oxygen and electrical energy splits the fuel apart far easier than without. 15:54:11 [George] You just feed the BG into the combustion air flow, either for IC or EC. 15:55:03 [George] BG rates as little as 5000:1 air/BG will significantly enhance combustion 15:56:08 [kidmarc] You might be interested in MotorMax as a heat sink. Actually it's for your radiator. http://www.firefreeze.com/motormax.php and http://www.firefreezemotormax.com/ 15:57:11 [George] has been a great chat with you, I hope you got as much out of it as I, and it seems we'll stay in touch 15:58:04 [kidmarc] Okay, getting back to the EV... what system would you consider the best for electrical power? 15:58:18 [kidmarc] Okay maybe next on that last question. 15:58:46 [kidmarc] Maybe next time on that last question George 15:59:24 [George] I haven't researched all motor possibilities, Frankly because I may go with one of the altermative options 16:00:04 [George] But in any case, It'll have to be high voltage instaed of the traditional low voltage. 16:00:24 [George] I like 220 volts, though 110 migh be better. 16:00:51 [George] If you get a chance, research the EV Gray motor, I think you'll like it 16:01:11 [kidmarc] Thanks George. I'll let you go.. I know you're busy. I'll do the research. 16:01:12 [George] By till next time 16:01:29 [kidmarc] Cíao!
